FOUNDER & CEO
THE KING OF SHAVES COMPANY LTD
The King of Shaves brand was created by Will King in the depths of the UK recession in the early 1990's.
Following redundancy, King decided to build his own business, King of Shaves, and his first product was shaving oil, which solved his personal problem with shaving - razor burn. It wasn't long before he was filling thousands of small plastic bottles in the kitchen of his home, and then his big break came when he landed a deal for Harrods to stock his product in September 1993, followed by Boots in May 1994.
Fast forward seventeen years… Will King is now a multi award-winning businessman, considered by many as one of the UK's most creative and successful entrepreneurs. Today, King of Shaves is second only to Gillette in the UK, and over thirty different King of Shaves brand products, including the iconic wet shave system razor - the Azor, are stocked in all major outlets across the UK as well as being available in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Africa and Brazil. King of Shaves products are also sold throughout America in a landmark distribution deal with Remington and the company has recently launched its first electrical range, sold exclusively in Argos.

On the train back from Newcastle recently, I had my journey seriously enlivened with the first few then many thousands of tweets coming through my timeline with the hashtag #neverseconds.
Let me get one thing straight, I'm a big fan of what Lord Alan Sugar's achieved in his remarkable business career. Back in the day - late 80's, early 90's, I used his products (Amstrad PC1512, PC8230) to write pitches when I worked in conference production (even to write to Nick Hewer, then Lord Alan's PR svengali - to get onto the pitch list for Amstrad's product launches). I also followed Amstrad's move into satellite (via Rupert Murdoch, BSkyB) and of course, the infamous em@iler product. I read his autobiography (more on this later) and of course, like millions of others, watch The Apprentice every Wednesday, now with my iPad and Tweetdeck fired up, to see what the watching public think of what's going on.
This week I was up at the crack of dawn to join Richard Branson's very own Entrepreneur Express - a Virgin train - whizzing up to Liverpool to take part in the Global Entrepreneur Congress, the first time this 'Davos for Entrepreneurs' has visited the UK.
