A large majority of the angel investors and venture capitalists who took part in a Booz & Company study say they will not put their money in digital content intermediaries (DCIs) if governments pass tough new rules allowing websites to be sued or fined for pirated digital content posted by users. (DCIs are the companies that provide search, hosting, and distribution services for digital content such as YouTube, Facebook, SoundCloud, eBay, and thousands of others.) More than 70 percent of angel investors reported they would be deterred from investing if anti-piracy regulations against "user uploaded" websites were increased.

ProspX nets $8m Series B

ProspX, Inc., developer of the first on-demand search and sales collaboration platform for the commercial insurance industry, today announced that it has completed an $8 million round of Series B funding to further accelerate the company's impressive growth and customer success. The funding round was led again by Adams Capital Management with participation from other investors such as HPI Real Estate Services and Investments (HPI). DynamicOps raises $11m Series B

DynamicOps, leading provider of private cloud automation software, today announced that it has closed $11 million in venture funding. The Series B round was led by Sierra Ventures. Next World Capital participated, joining Credit Suisse's Next II venture group in ownership. The company also added industry veterans Les Yetton and Paul Silver to its executive team, and Mark Fernandes to its board of directors.

Vitrue closes $17M Series C

BLiNQ nets $7.4M Series A

BLiNQ Networks Inc., a pioneer in developing next-generation intelligent wireless backhaul solutions, today announced it has secured $7.4 million in Series A funding and has appointed former President of Andrew Corporation's Wireless Network Solutions, Carleton Miller, as President and CEO to lead the company's launch to market. Miller's first order of business was the acquisition of intellectual property (IP) and wireless assets from Nortel Networks, which was approved by The Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
