Dear Entrepreneur Country readers, Welcome to our first tablet and smart-phone enabled digital magazine! With each issue largely covering how entrepreneurs are succeeding in the digital age it seemed only right that we started leading by example. Over the next coming months we will be showcasing a host of updates to our community platforms for our ever-changing, digitally enabled readers – also, all feedback is welcomed on how we continue to enhance your experience of being a member of Entrepreneur Country. Our only hope is that we provide a unique forum for entrepreneurs of all calibres where you can be part of a community, exchange advice, enrich your knowledge and strengthen your businesses. This month we look at entrepreneurs who are resourceful, conquering emerging industries and seek to challenge the status quo and innovate despite the odds. Leading this thematic is David Richards, founder of WANdisco, one of the UK’s most successful technology companies. David’s story of his humble beginnings in Sheffield to monumental success in the software industry is fascinating, and you can read his full interview on page 8. Also, David will be speaking at the Follow the Entrepreneur Summit on 24th May, which Entrepreneur Country will be…
Welcome to the latest edition of Entrepreneur Country and I hope you all had a restful Easter Weekend, helping you to refuel and adopt a new, energised approach to your business. This month, I’m happy to bring you a magazine themed around this very mindset, with each feature helping you to look at new ways to reinvigorate your business.
Dear Entrepreneur Country Citizens, We recently held our 10th bi-annual Entrepreneur Country Forum at the Royal Institution of Great Britain and year-on-year it never disappoints. In fact, I think the overriding opinion after speaking to delegates on the day is that this was our best Forum yet!
Welcome to the February issue and I hope business is booming as we all welcome the year ahead of us. Here at Entrepreneur Country, we are more excited than ever for what 2013 has in store for our community. Here are just a few things that we hope you'll look forward to;
Dear Entrepreneur Country Citizens So much has happened in the big wide world and in Entrepreneur Country in 2012. Britain became the world's stage for the London Olympics, David Cameron proclaims in almost every one of his speeches that UK entrepreneurs are saving the economy, Vince Cable launched the first business bank, and the recession lingers on. What I do know is that economic gloom only seems to do one thing to entrepreneurs - it forces them to be more innovative. As a result, this month's magazine is focused around the theme of innovation, and our team of contributors are addressing all the ways in which they are witnessing it manifest. Linda Peters looks at how editors are taking skills learnt in the print industry and applying it to digital offerings like e-commerce channels, whilst Michael Philippe spoke to Entrepreneur Country on how his publishing app lekiosk will help drive sales in print newspapers and magazines. Start-up Viewsy addresses how to digitally innovate in bricks and mortar retail on page 38 and contributors Alan Moore and Nitin Dahad look at the wider scope of innovation in society as a whole (42) and where it arguably begins, in education (54). Innovation…
Dear Entrepreneur Country Citizens, The thing I like most about Entrepreneur Country is having a thriving community who are so keen to give feedback. Seeing an entrepreneur tweet a friend to sing our praises, receiving an email from a subscriber telling me about an article they enjoyed or hearing from delegates at our events makes every element of my job worthwhile. It is also a plus that entrepreneurs tend to be the most positive, enthusiastic and inspirational people you will ever meet. I have no doubt that this is why our membership continues to grow and we welcome more and more business owners who choose to check into Entrepreneur Country every day. To new and existing readers, welcome! This month, my aim was to collate a magazine that reflects the feedback that I receive every month on our business focused features. Many of you wanted to see more interviews in the magazine, so we not only have our cover interview, but I spoke to Social Media Guru Tamsin Fox-Davies, CEO of MOVE Guides Brynne Herbert and our regular contributor Alison Coleman interviewed serial entrepreneur Paul Dunn. You can also find interview snippets with our speakers across our Forum article, as…
Dear Entrepreneur Country Citizens, As I sat to write this month's letter, I was taken back to the day I checked into Entrepreneur Country not just as an employee, but as a member of a community. On my first introduction to the world of business I had so many preconceived notions - mainly that entrepreneurs must keep all their amazing ideas to themselves and that they are so strong that they don't need to share their story or gain advice. I couldn't be more wrong.
Dear Entrepreneur Country Citizens, I think it's fair to say that Britain is on a high post-Olympics. I can't remember the last time there was such a sense of pride in the air, with Great Britain showcasing the nations talent and proving a world of doubters wrong who predicted we would collapse under the pressure.
Dear Entrepreneur Country readers, I am so glad to be addressing you in my first Editor's letter and I feel incredibly humbled that I am able to create a monthly magazine that showcases so many exciting business owners. At Entrepreneur Country, our only hope is that we provide a unique forum for entrepreneurs of all calibres where you can be part of a community, exchange advice, enrich your knowledge and strengthen your businesses. With every article I read and the people I meet at our events, I feel I get closer to understanding the entrepreneurial plight. I am not only humbled at every story of struggle that concluded in business success through sheer insane drive, I am inspired by every one of your unique experiences of going it alone. On the cover this month is Michelle Mone, Founder of Ultimo and one of the UK's most prominent female business leaders. Michelle has been through every possible setback, both business related and personal, yet has created a multi-million pound lingerie company out of a passion and understanding of the female customer. I was in awe of her determination to always be at the top of her game and to never accept…
Happy June and congratulations! You have made it through the first six months of the business year. In celebration, we have hit the big five of what we believe is on every entrepreneurs mind, or will be in the foreseeable future. These five vital points, when mastered, will see you through any form of business disruption that may be presented in the next coming months (Olympics anyone?) Now is the time to strengthen your company strategies and sail through the storm.  Please click here to read this issue.

Happy April! Our latest issue marks a refuelled, energised approach after a restful Easter weekend, with one third of the business year complete. To coincide with this, we bring you a magazine that is themed around looking back at the first three months of 2012, polishing up on your business objectives and seeking fresh ideas to help strengthen your company strategy. Examples of this philosophy are seen throughout every page, with Lee McQueen (Former Apprentice Winner) tackling the subject of recruitment and how to rethink your existing employment procedure on pages 14-15, whilst Lisa Turner (p26) urges you to consider the use of your time and how to interact in new ways with your client base.
