The third episode of Britain's Next Big Thing aired last night and it was time for Wingman to revisit Boots HQ.
I returned to see the Boots buyers to discuss the future for Wingman. They really hammered home to me the importance of creating a brand that appealed to a wider audience, as I was aiming to focus on three specific groups originally. As a result of this meeting, I needed to re-package the product and define the demographic I was aiming for. They seemed quite impressed with my knowledge of the market, but were keen to pass on their management experiences to help me find my feet and understand the nuts and bolts of the retail business.

In this episode I returned solo, after parting ways with my business partner who featured earlier in the series.

During last night's show I also had the opportunity to sit down with Theo for a catch up. He advised me that I should take full responsibility for Wingman. I needed to think about everything myself now and he emphasised that detail is everything when entering the retail market. He very kindly mentioned that my ex business partner could end up "being the man that didn't sign up the Beatles"..... I'm not sure I am quite there yet, but it was a great thing to hear from Theo! Plus it has really spurred me on to fulfil the potential the business has.

Speaking to the experts has made me realise that there is still a lot of work to do, but I'm loving the challenge so far. Please tune in over the next few weeks to follow the Wingman story on it's exciting journey to the shelves of Boots.

Next Tuesday is episode 4, which airs at 8pm BBC Two

Tuesday 10th also airs at 8pm BBC Two

Tuesday 17th and Tuesday 24th air at 7pm BBC Two
