Last night, The Evening Standard hosted a business networking event with Julie Meyer, Twitter's Tony Wang and Paul Harrison of Carve Consulting. The event focused on how technology can boost your business, along with a networking session for likeminded business owners and experts.

As a summary, Julie discusses her philosophy that capital follows ideas and that technology and finance are service industries, or the 'jet fuel' if you want your company to take off. Paul Harrison of Carve Consulting discussed how important two way, personal conversations are across social media platforms and the importance of having a voice wherever your customer is. General Manager of Twitter Tony Wang also put forward that people do not care what your doing as much as why you're doing it, and that Twitter is bringing global things more local and local things even closer.

Click here for a round up of the speakers and here if you would like to watch Julie's speech in full, showcasing her expertise of technology industries, the entrepreneurial class of people that change the world, new economy and how to understand it and much more.
