The Nordic venture capital company Via Venture Partners is the new major shareholder of the Luleå-based company Miroi AB, one of the leading companies in Sweden in adult education and job matching.

"Our business concept is to prevent isolation by helping people into work. With the support of Via Venture Partners, we can grow faster and thus help even more people in the future," says Miroi's MD, Jan Aspvik.

Via Venture Partners is acquiring 70% of the shares from Miroi's MD Jan Aspvik and vice MD Thomas Sjölund, who retain the remaining 30% of the shares.

"We are very glad to get Via Venture Partners as the new principal shareholder. We see great potential to expand further in labour market training, adult education and job matching. We believe that Via Venture Partners' wide contact network, financial resources and experience of growth companies will be very valuable," says Jan Aspvik.

Miroi AB was founded in 1991 and is one of the most successful companies in its industry. Of those who take part in Miro's education programmes and job matching, four out of ten find employment within six months. The company's success has been achieved in parallel with strong growth. This year, Miroi is estimated to have sales of SEK 180 million, an increase of around 70% on 2009.

"Over a period of almost 20 years, Miroi has developed a very successful model. It will be rewarding to work with a company that does as much good for society as Miroi," says Anders Lindqvist, partner in Via Venture Partners.
