Under the agreement, Bucks will administer the 50,000 strong catalogue of rights cleared tracks that have been fully indexed through SoundOut, Slicethepie's insight and analytics service.
Bucks will actively mine the catalogue using SoundOut's leading semantic search technology to secure sync, licensing and other publishing opportunities for SoundOut artists (SoundOut Search press release). This unique search technology will enable Bucks to match full music briefs, find tracks similar to well known artists and conduct powerful catalogue searches using reference tracks. The catalogue is publicly searchable from today with all tracks available for sync and licensing at http://bucks.soundoutsearch.com.
Any artist can have their music included in this catalogue (on a non-exclusive basis) for sync and licensing opportunities by simply ordering a SoundOut report at www.soundout.com. The insight and analytics data generated by the SoundOut process wraps the track in semantic and other data making it both fully searchable and appropriately positioned within the catalogue. This ensures it is always matched with appropriate commercial opportunities.
Simon Platz, MD of Bucks Music Group said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Slicethepie. To have a catalogue of this size with such powerful search capabilities, quality filters and with a SoundOut insight report on every track is not only unique but very powerful. In a commercial environment, the value of being able to match music briefs and mine a new and ever expanding pre cleared catalogue with no prior catalogue knowledge is immense."
David Courtier-Dutton, CEO of Slicethepie commented: "Rather than launch yet another poorly tagged, low quality, online license marketplace, this partnership combines the relationships and skills of the traditional mainstream publishing industry with leading semantic search technologies and the crowd sourced power of the web. We are delighted to be partnering with Bucks Music Group to deliver tangible benefits to all SoundOut artists."
Daniel Spencer, SVP Search and Artist Relations added "The sync and licensing market is more valuable to artists than ever before. For any artist to be able to access the depth of experience and breadth of contacts that Bucks Music Group provides is a big step forward and means an increasing number of tracks from upcoming artists can now be easily sourced and put forward for commercial opportunities"
The Bucks partnership follows a similar partnership with Fontana Distribution announced earlier this year, under which Fontana recommend top rated SoundOut artists to up to 80 independent US labels.

About Slicethepie
Slicethepie is an audience powered, analytical filter and semantic search engine for new and mainstream music. It has broad commercial application for record labels, publishers, radio, independent artists and all commercial consumers of music. Its fully integrated product set includes:
SoundOut
SoundOut (www.soundout.com), wholly owned by Slicethepie, is the market leading online consumer insight and analytics service for recording artists, record labels and, increasingly, radio stations. Sold directly, and through a wide range of partners (IODA, InGrooves, TuneCore, Nimbit etc), it provides detailed and accurate reports generated directly from consumer feedback on new tracks (SoundOut Pro Report sample). In addition, it offers artists exposure to a range of commercial opportunities as well as providing the information artists need to better target their marketing activities. SoundOut was instrumental in helping Slicethepie financed band, Scars on 45, secure their multi album worldwide record deal with Atlantic Records earlier this year and was also recently named as a finalist in the BT Digital Music Awards 2010.
SoundOut Search
SoundOut Search enables users to search a music catalogue using an entire music brief, a free text description or a reference track and receive a set of the closest matching tracks in the catalogue being searched. The SoundOut Search technology uses powerful semantic technologies to avoid the intrinsic subjectivity of ‘tagging', so rather than requiring exact matches, it instead returns the closest matches available within the catalogue.
SoundOut Research
SoundOut Research (www.soundoutresearch.com), now being used by a number of major Radio groups, is a unique research resource for new release music. It provides instant access to SoundOut Pro market research reports, 100% audience powered, on every major label new release. The database includes every major label UK release since August 2009, currently totalling over 1,000 tracks. It is automatically updated on an hourly basis as reports are completed on new release tracks giving a 360 degree view of the competitive landscape in the singles market.
Slicethepie
Slicethepie (www.slicethepie.com) is a multiple award-winning fan financing platform for the music industry that enables new and established artists to raise money directly from music fans and investors. To date, fans have financed over 30 artists.
CEO David Courtier-Dutton was recently named as a finalist in the 2010 CNBC European Business Leaders Awards.
