Sharon Lowe is the owner of The Pure Emporia a natural skincare online store that was setup in 2011. Within 5 months of trading, the business had won two national awards. The Pure Emporia had been voted “the best online store for 100% natural skincare” and it had also been given an #SBS (Small Business Sunday) award from Theo Paphitis of Dragons Den.

At present we are in the midst of a harsh economic climate, but this can also have its advantages for a small business – there are incentives to grow and there is support from the banks and government that may not normally be there. People are also being pushed into self employment due to their own personal circumstances. So as long as you have a good business idea and some financial backing it is not necessarily a bad time to launch a new business.
Recently I blogged about winning our #SBS (Small Business Sunday) Award from Theo Paphitis. The award was a direct result of tweeting about www.thepureemporia.com to him and he retweeted it as one of his favourites for that week.
I love Twitter! There, I’ve said it. Now I know I sound quite sad but for a natural skincare business like www.thepureemporia.com, it is proving invaluable.
