The Near platform lets users explore and interact with perfect 3D replicas of physical environments. In February, the company started its first real-time project for the Crown Estate, creating interactive models for a number of major new developments. Discussions are also underway to carry out similar work with another of London's largest property owners.
Also in February, a major update to the consumer service added hundreds of new retailers and a host of new visual effects to NearLondon, including real-time day and night simulation. With support from partners including John Lewis, Marks and Spencer, Karen Millen, Levis, Evening Standard and others, Near has already registered thousands of users in the beta programme, enabling the company to refine its software performance and develop new features and content prior to a major marketing campaign planned for later this Spring.
Founder Alex Wrottesley commented: "We've always planned to address opportunities outside of retail, but we were surprised at how quickly we have been able to bring new revenue streams online with the platform. It's taken two years of focused development to get to this point but we're now in a position to realise the underlying value that our approach delivers".
