GiftCertificates.com focuses on corporate prepaid incentives, consumer-direct gift cards and gift-card fulfillment services for merchants. GiftCertificates’ core product, the SuperCertificate, is a proprietary universal gift certificate that can be redeemed for hundreds of leading merchant gift cards.
The acquisition of GiftCertificates.com, an ecommerce site that had raised a substantial amount of venture capital over the last decade, including from Mellon Capital and Barron Private Equity, comes after Marlin’s 2008 acquisition of ProLogic, a third-party provider of coupon redemption services.
