Rocket Ninja emerges from the shadows with $3.5m Series A funding

Rocket Ninja, a US developer of social games and apps has announced it has secured $3.5m in an intitial Series A funding round from angel investors said to include an unnamed European billionaire.

Despite having been around for two years, Rocket Ninja only recently launched its first product on Facebook, a virtual aquarium title called Ocean Kingdom. It also has a number of titles in production for release in the next six months, and is reportedly completing development of a streaming 3D engine called Shr3D.

Rocket Ninja's focus is on high-quality entertainment products for global mobile and social networks defined by groundbreaking technology and tools. "In the next year, social games will explode from shallow, repetitive interactivity to more complex, engaging entertainment," according to CEO Oded Pelled.
