Podio, the connected work platform that is revolutionizing the way employees and professionals work and interact, announced today that it secured $4M in Series A funding. Sunstone Capital led the round with the intention that the funds will be used to further develop the product and hire key employees.
Described by many as a new disruptive technology player in the Enterprise 2.0 space, Podio is redefining the market by providing a highly-customizable web-based work environment that is used to answer a wide variety of needs – from company intranets and extranets, project management and recruiting solutions, to CRM, business intelligence and company-wide social platforms.

"Podio's unique connected work platform is generating significant interest with more than 6,000 organizations on the service," said Tommy Ahlers, CEO of Podio. "Ours is the only product out there that puts people instead of technology at the center by allowing them to create their own tools and work environment. Hundreds of paying customers already see the benefit in that, and we expect this trend to dominate the space of Enterprise 2.0 in the coming years. "

Christian Jepsen, Partner at Sunstone Capital, commented "Podio presents a perfect match with our strategy to invest in early-stage technology ventures with a strong potential for global success - the company has not only a big and bold vision to change the way people work, but also a strong and talented team with the required leadership skills and execution capabilities to turn that vision into reality. Podio is literally redefining the modern work environment and we have no doubt that their impact will influence the way people work everywhere."
